Production Setter

Production Setter in Watchmaking Machining Responsible: Production workshop manager Location: La Chaux-de-Fonds Status: Permanent / Full-time Department: Production / Machining General Definition The production setter is capable of performing the configuration, complete setting, and optimization of the workshop's machining equipment. He ensures and supervises production while respecting high watchmaking precision, quality, and deadlines. He guarantees technical support for the team, ensures part conformity, and participates in the maintenance of the company's machine park. Main Missions Production & Setting • Perform the complete setting of the workshop equipment: Fanuc Robodrill machining centers, Tsugami machining centers, and Nakamura turning-milling centers. • Prepare and mount tools, adjust clamping means, and load machining programs (Fanuc Controls). • Carry out the setup and rigorously validate the conformity of the first typical part before launching the series. • Guarantee product quality (dimensional and visual) throughout production. • Take technical responsibility for the production carried out by the workshop's Production Operators. • Follow the priorities communicated by his manager and optimize the use of manufacturing orders (OF). • Diagnose drifts, replace worn tools, adjust offsets, and optimize cycle times. Health, Safety and Environment • Respect and enforce safety rules in the use of machines and the handling of substances (oils, lubricants, …). • Collect materials (precious metals, brass, steel), sort and dispose of waste and chips according to current environmental standards. Work Organization • Organize the workshop work according to schedules, priorities, and machine availability. • Report difficulties encountered, find technical solutions to resolve blocking points, and validate their implementation with his manager. • Propose continuous improvements in order to optimize the performance and efficiency of the team's work. • Be organized to have a clean workstation during use and transmit clear and strict setting instructions to colleagues. • Ensure the weekly follow-up and storage of control and metrology equipment. • Be strict and rigorous regarding the follow-up, traceability of precious metals, and validation of OF. Versatility & Maintenance • Participate according to company needs in washing, finishing, engraving, or assembly operations in view of his skills and in agreement with his manager. • Perform first-level preventive and curative maintenance and servicing of the various machines in the workshop (Robodrill, Tsugami, Nakamura). Required Profile - Training • Training: CFC in Automatic Lathe Operator, Polymécanicien, Micromécanicien or a title deemed equivalent. • Experience: 3 to 5 years minimum of experience in a setter position on similar machines (milling and automatic lathe). • Technical Skills: Proven mastery of reading complex plans, precision metrology, and Fanuc-type controls. • Aptitudes: Good ability to adapt, sharp analytical mind, autonomy and rigor in the face of high watchmaking requirements.
