The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (SSP) of the Université de Lausanne is looking to recruit a: Associate Professor or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor for an Associate Professorship in Education through sport in social sciences at the Institute of Sports Sciences Start date: 1 August 2027 or to be agreed Workplace: Switzerland, Lausanne, Dorigny campus Contract duration: Associate Professor: 6 years renewable, tenure-track assistant professor: 2 years renewable 2x2 years. An evaluation procedure for tenure as an associate professor will take place after 4 years in post (Rectorate Directive 1.4 on the evaluation of conditional tenure-track appointments) Full-time position: 100% The Institute of Sports Sciences (ISSUL) is the main teaching and research center of UNIL in the interdisciplinary field of sports sciences. It brings together experts in human and social sciences (history, psychology, management, and sociology) and life sciences (physiology, biomechanics, medicine, and molecular biology) in the heart of the Olympic capital. Main responsibilities: *Teaching (45%)* Six hours of teaching per week throughout the year in French: A teaching exemption of two hours per week per year will be granted during the pre-tenure period in the case of recruitment of a tenure-track assistant professor. The position holder will supervise Master's theses and doctoral dissertations. *Research (45%)* The position holder will pursue their own research in the field of Education through sport (with a disciplinary orientation towards social sciences). Given the needs of the institute, profiles from psychology are not a priority/expected. The position holder must produce research publications of international level. It is expected that the position holder be affiliated with one of the research centers of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and work within the Institute of Sports Sciences (ISSUL). He or she will also seek external funding, notably from the Swiss National Science Foundation (FNS). *Administrative responsibilities (10%)* In accordance with Rectorate Directive 1.13, members of the teaching staff are required to assume administrative tasks within their department, faculty, and university. For the faculty, these tasks involve participation in committees and decision-making or representation bodies. *Required profile* • Doctorate in sports science, social sciences, or equivalent qualification; • Academic teaching experience; • Proven research track record in the field of Education through sport with a disciplinary orientation towards social sciences; • Excellent links with international academic networks; • Ability to attract external research funding; • Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written; • Ability to teach in French within two years.
